Poems I dictated to my mom at age 5

“Over treetops there will be a scene over everything…The blossoms ring and the world is coming to an end…”

Am I the only one who finds the apocalyptic imagery in these poems kind of creepy? I was in kindergarten, people!

My first short story, written at age 7

“My punishmint was to go to the prinsabell’s ofice. I went. He told me no reses. I went anyway… I was grounded for 2 weeks. But I crossed out 2 days on the calendar every day to make it go faster…”

All of the spelling errors here are authentic, transcribed exactly as I found them in my Lisa Frank dolphin notebook. I particularly like “the prinsabell’s ofice.” The sad thing is, I haven’t gotten much better at spelling since.
